Title Janitorial Services: Cleaning and Housekeeping at the Centre for Aquaculture & Environmental Research (CAER) West Vancouver Laboratory Fisheries and Oceans Canada, West Vancouver, British Columbia Location of Work, Work site and Delivery Point The West Vancouver Laboratory (WVL) is located at 4160 Marine Drive West Vancouver, BC V7V 1N6. Objectives of the Requirement A team of two janitors is required for on-going quality janitorial services at the WVL between Monday and Friday inclusive, except for government Stat holidays (including BC Family Day). The janitorial services will commence no earlier than 5pm weekdays for 4 hours a day and consist of cleaning of all exposed surfaces of the interior of buildings, including walls, floors, floor coverings, furniture, plumbing and mechanical fixtures, hand rails, grilles, and windows (inside and outside). The services should be evident in the cleanliness of the work environment, to the Facility Manager and to the employee’s working in the facility being cleaned. Security Requirements The Contractor working under this contract must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS) level issued by the Canadian and International Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) of Public Work and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for access to DFO premises. The Contractor’s resources working on this contract must EACH hold a valid RELIABILITY STATUS granted by the Canadian and International Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) of Public Work and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for access to DFO premises. Contract Period The period of the Contract will be from contract award to March 31, 2016 with the possibility of two additional one year option periods to be exercised in writing at the sole discretion of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. All cost proposals shall include prices for each year or it will be assumed the prices remain the same for the three years.

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires Janitorial services at the Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Stephenville Base, Port Harmon, Stephenville, NL and DFO Hangar at Stephenville, NL.

There are 2 buildings that require daily cleaning in Stephenville Base, Port Harmon, Stephenville, NL:

1. Stephenville Base, First and second floors

2. C.C.G.Helicopter Hangar.

DURATION OF CONTRACT

October 1, 2016 through to September 30, 2017, (12 months) with option to renew for 2 additional 1 year periods at the sole discretion of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

Option periods if exercised will be October 1, 2017 through to September 30, 2018 (12 months) and October 1, 2018 through to September 30, 2019 (12 months)

Title:Janitorial services for the Sorel Base

INTRODUCTION

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans requires the services of a company to clean its facilities at Sorel Base.

OBJECTIVES OF THE REQUIREMENT

Exterior

  • Polish all metal fittings and door strikes on all building entrance doors and clean them thoroughly once a month.
  • Clean both sides of windows on entrance doors daily.
  • Daily, pick up litter such as paper, cardboard, leaves, etc. at building entrances.
  • Sweep floors and clean doormats in entryways and main entrances daily.

    Interior

  • All high ledges, partitions, pipes and other elevated places where dust accumulates are to be dusted four (4) times per year at regular intervals.
  • Air vents are dusted every month and washed once a year.
  • Door plates and kickplates are washed with an appropriate solution and prints are removed from them daily.
  • Dust must be removed once a month from door grilles, which shall also be washed with a mild soap solution once a year.

PERIOD OF CONTRACT

The required services are to be performed during the period from July 6th, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Bidders must demonstrate the following:

  • Proposed resources must demonstrate having three (3) years’ experience in cleaning commercial or public buildings.
  • Identify minimum of two (2) employees to perform the work required.
  • The bidder must present a valid certificate of compliance from the “Comité paritaire de l’entretien d’édifices publics” [joint committee on public building maintenance].
  • Employees must demonstrate having successfully completed Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training.

Bidders’ Proposals must clearly demonstrate that they meet all Mandatory Requirements for the proposal to be considered for further evaluation. Proposals not meeting the mandatory criteria will be excluded from further consideration.

SELECTION METHOD

The successful bidder will be selected on the basis of the assessed best value to the Crown.
