This procurement project is to tender for a catering provider across the university’s estates. The estate comprises of four campus, the main campus being Peel Park, we have two other campus Adelphi and Frederick Road both within a 10 minute walk from Peel Park and the remaining campus at Media City in Salford. The estate is c.165 000 m² (GIA). The university is presently undergoing significant capital investment in a new 16 000 m² Arts building opening in January 2016, and we presently have 1400 on site student residences being constructed opening in September 2015. The university has c. 2000 staff and 19 159 students. Due to the likely level of supplier investment required in this contract it is proposed the contract period is up to 10 years. More detail will be provided with the documentation in the pre-qualification documentation and tender documents. This is our contract catering service, across the whole of the Salford university estate. The current contractual arrangement is for the counter sales, vending and hospitality sales at the University to generate revenue and income to pay for capital investment in premises and all staff and materials cost to support our strategy in the provision of full catering service provision to both the student and staff bodies of the University. Hence we are looking for a long term contract to facilitate a partnership with a service provider and to allow the successful provider to obtain a return on investment. As competitive sector, service contracts such as this one are crucial to maintaining the student experience and satisfaction. SRFT is looking to enter in to a contract with a provider of regeneration meals for patient feeding within all in patient areas of the Trust. The type of meal to be provided can be either cook/chill or cook/freeze. Both options will be considered and tenderers are welcomed to submit options for either or both types of service.
