The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Corfe Hills School. Corfe Hills School is an Academy formed in April 2011 for students from Year 9 and includes a vibrant sixth form. There are currently 930 students in Years 9 – 11 and 400 in the Sixth Form but the capacity of the school is 1719 and it is anticipated that numbers will rise to this level within the period of the contract. There are approximately 200 staff on site each day. The school buildings were purpose built in 1976 and the main kitchen has changed little since this time. The catering services are contracted to Chartwells at present, and there are currently three catering outlets: • Choices Café ~ seating 80, including a servery from the kitchen • Snack Shack ~ adjacent to Choices Café • Shades Café ~ seating 60 for sixth formers only; located on the first floor with a hot servery for food which is cooked in the main kitchen. The contract being tendered is for a minimum five year duration from 1 August 2016 and we are inviting option proposals for longer periods to a maximum of 10 years where this enables a higher level of investment. The provision will cover all catering services within the school, which currently includes: breakfast, mid-morning break and lunch. There may be an opportunity to expand this to provide hospitality for school events. Corfe Hills School expects the successful contractor to be committed to compliance with the School Food Plan, using fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients prepared on site. Commitment to other school initiatives and Government policies that are relevant to catering is also required. The School is continually seeking ways to improve and develop the social environment for students and staff, to give them the catering and dining facilities they deserve and need to support their learning and teaching. The objective is to increase take up of school meals which will be encouraged through cashless payment methods, reduced queuing and increased dining capacity. Capital investment proposals in support of these aims would be welcomed as part of the Contractor’s tender submission. The School would wish for the Contractor to consider making this investment within the existing catering facilities and at other locations on the school site.

The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Growth in Learning Trust, initially Barton Hill Academy, Bristol. Please note the scope of the requirement may grow during the period of the contract with any additional schools being negotiated separately as an addition to the core contract. The Trust has established a strong ethos and values, which will be key in deciding which bidder to award the contract to. The Academy has 19 classes from nursery to year six. There are currently three classes in each year group from reception to year two and two in each of the others. The Academy is growing fast and the aim is to be fully three form entry by September 2018. The Academy shall benefit from a significant extension to support this objective with new classrooms, kitchen and catering equipment being added by November 2015, in advance of the start of this contract. The catering contract being offered will commence on 1 April 2016 for an initial period of three years, concluding on 31 March 2019, and will be offered on a guaranteed performance basis, with a service on each of the 190 full academic days and a hospitality requirement on 5 teacher training inset days. . This is the first time this contract has been subjected to a competitive tender process. The projected cost of catering for the current year is approximately £75K. There is currently no cashless system in place. The contract covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the Academy, which currently includes breakfast club, morning break, lunch, all hospitality and free issue requirements. Free school meals and hospitality will be charged based on consumption. The school has a Halal requirement for a significant number of pupils. We provide a Breakfast club and ‘Magic Breakfast’, all children and parents are welcome. Breakfast Club opens at 8 a.m. and finish’s serving at 8.30. The food from Magic Breakfast will be free to all children who attend Barton Hill Academy. From Magic Breakfast we receive bagels, cereals, porridge and orange juice and we will provide a range of spreads. Parents and staff will have to pay for breakfast but the costs will be kept as low as possible. The Trust expects the successful contractor to enable the continued development of catering through the provision of an innovative, healthy food service, prepared on-site, in the ‘new’, well-designed and equipped kitchen. The Trust intends to focus heavily on healthy, fresh, seasonal, locally sourced produce and sees the catering service as an exciting opportunity to complement the overall uptake, student and parent experience, through the regular introduction of new ingredients, themed and promotional events. The successful contractor will be required to play their part in acting as a catalyst for improvement of the pupil experience.

Scope of Software Swindon Borough Council has recently reviewed its current Operation and Retail Management Systems, and seeks to replace the system. Swindon Borough Council now seeks to engage with appropriate and experienced suppliers of Operation and Retail Management Systems to explore the practicality of the systems and to seek suppliers' views. Potential suppliers need to be able to demonstrate a track record of having delivered Systems in at least 3 multi-site venues. An outline specification of requirements is available to interested suppliers, and a workshop to deal with questions of clarification is planned to be held on 23rd June 2015 to which, suppliers expressing an interest will be invited. The key element of the requirement is for a technical solution which provides: · A full admission, retail, events and catering software package to include the collation of customer, management and stock information. The requirement currently is for the delivery and implementation of an Operation and Retail Management System with maintenance and support. This contract will be fixed price in nature with the successful contractor with the contractor invoicing the client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis, also guaranteeing both the number of input hours to the contract and the quality of cleaning provision. Any variations to the contract that are requested by the client should be invoiced at the agreed rate and should be calculated on an hourly rate per employee needed to carry out the variation to the satisfaction of the contract supervising officer. This variation MAY include additional days periodic cleaning as agreed with the client on an annual basis. Whilst the monthly charge will represent one-twelfth of the contract cost, a reconciliation will take place monthly to reconcile the actual hours worked within the contract. If the hours worked are less than those budgeted for a credit will be required by the Academy. The Academy require that the tendered amount of hours are worked at all times and the successful contractor is expected to have a system in place to cover for both planned and unplanned leave. The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful contractor to operate to at all times is being able to provide a clean school that is fit for purpose and that the Contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the innovation and continued innovation of processes throughout the contract term will be pivotal to the success of the new contract. The Contractor shall provide a comprehensive cleaning service to the Site so as to promote a clean, healthy and safe environment which presents a positive image to all users and visitors. The Site must at all times meet health, safety and environmental standards appropriate to the Site and its use and the successful Contractor must comply with the Client’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. The Services must be provided so as not to interrupt the routine of the Site.
