UK SBS FM150016 Replacement of Expansion Joints Invitation to Quote (ITQ)

The NOC is embarking on a programme of replacing the expansion joints on their waterfront building in Southampton. The building is around 25 years old and it may be that the joint filling material originates from its original construction. We understand that the jointing medium itself contains suspended asbestos fibre and as such you will need to make your own enquiries regarding any special arrangement required for its removal and disposal. The various documents included within this tender pack form the basis of the specification in that the pricing schedule, example of appropriate expansion joint medium to be used and elevation plan showing the location of the joints to be replaced should provide you with all the information required, although a site survey is highly recommended. We would envisage that the majority of the work would be undertaken using a MEWP. Within Appendix A data sheet has been included as an example of a potential sealant/joint solution. This example is to provide an indication of the performance properties that we require. Alternative products that provide similar performance characteristics can be proposed but will be subject to approval by NOC Estates.
