The Prosanut programme's overall aim is to 'contribute towards restoring long-term food and nutrition security in Burundi'. The programme is organised in 2 sections. Section 1 'Support for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Minagrie) with setting up an information system concerning the agricultural sector' aims to facilitate the decision-making process of those parties involved in long-term food security by improving the quality, availability and exploitation of basic information concerning the agricultural sector. This section will be concerned more specifically with setting up an information system (collection, processing and exploitation of data, validation and dissemination of information). This system being set up will support a priority focal point of government policy in Burundi and follow up the assets of the agricultural product price information system in Burundi (SIP), set up by the Minagrie with the assistance of the project to support the restoration of long-term food security (Parsad) and subsequently the post-conflict rural development programme (PPCDR). This contract aims to recruit a technical assistance team comprising 3 permanent experts for a minimum period of 2 years at the start-up of the intervention, with a gradual phasing out: an agroeconomist (team leader), a specialist in food security and nutrition and a chartered accountant. The team will help the Minagrie carry out section 1 of the programme by performing, in particular, tasks requiring technical capacities and administrative, preparatory and ancillary tasks relating to the planning and monitoring of section 1 of the programme, communication of corresponding reports, award of public contracts and financial management. Mobilisation of additional ad hoc expertise may be required.
