The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations (ECLAC) is seeking for companies with local representation in Chile, with at least five (5) years of experience, with technical and financial capacity to participate in the bidding process for the provision of a Digital Duplication/Printing on Demand (POD) System for ECLAC Headquarters in Santiago, Chile, South America. 1. Purpose of the contract 1.1. ECLAC requires from the contractor the provision, installation, operation and maintenance of all necessary equipment/systems, including its software and hardware, in order to fulfill the need of an efficient, cost-effective, appropriate and integral graphic system for a digital duplication/printing-on-demand on site service. 1.2. The contract consists in the provision of a new (not-refurbished) state-of-the art digital duplication system in black/white and colour in compliance with industry standards, essential to the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNECLAC)’s printing demands. The service shall be in place for a period of two (2) consecutive years, with two possible additional periods of one (1) year each depending on the level of satisfaction. 1.3. (LOCAL TIME) Project Description Background In 2013, the COCEI developed a proposed program that incorporates management priorities grouped according to the strategic guidelines established by the CBD for exotic species, incorporating specific objectives for each of the guidelines, as land and hydrobiological areas, pre and post border border. The project, under its component one product one and activity two will design and implement a national database and a system of dissemination of information and coordination of Invasive Alien Species activity that will contribute to the knowledge of the species found feral within the national territory. In this regard it is important to establish a database that allows shorten the information gaps that exist, and secondly serves to implement a system of dissemination of information and coordination of ERA. Unfortunately, the information generated by these efforts is highly dispersed and difficult to access, and in many cases the results have only been published abroad. For this reason, the GEF-ERA project will support the creation of a catalog of exotic species in Chile, naturalized or feral [2], and a system for disseminating information (including a website, connected to the existing website MMA) consolidate existing knowledge in Chile on alien species (EE). They also serve to identify critical gaps in knowledge, so that priorities for IAS management are established, both nationally and locally. This brochure provides basic information for each species, whose presence in the country will be supported by bibliographic material, herbarium material or zoological collections. Objectives 1.2.1 General Objective To develop the first catalog of naturalized alien species or feral in Chile 1.2.2 Specific Objectives To develop the list of naturalized exotic species or feral in Chile, 12 species groups.
