GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
Belarusian Forestry DevelopmentProject
Project ID No.P147760
The Republic of Belarus has applied forfinancing in the amount of US$ 43.45 equivalent from the World Bank toward thecost of the Belarusian Forestry Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works,related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Grant GEF.
The project will include the followingcomponents:
Component 1: Improvingsilviculture and sustainability of forest management. Including the procurement of complexes to increase intensity of intermediatethinning (harvesters and forvarders), wood chippers, equipment for growing planting stock (seeding lines, greenhouses, coolingmachineries for nurseries, watering systems, etc.) and consulting services;
Component 2: Improvingforest fire prevention, monitoring, detection andsuppression. Including the procurement of specialized equipment for forest firedetection, prevention and suppression (forest fire fighting vehicle) and consulting services for improving forest fire prevention,monitoring, detection and suppression;
Component 3: Forestmanagement information systems and capacity building. Consulting services in creation the enabling environment; improving forestmanagement information system and forest management planning capacity; development of and training in the use of advancedtechnologies and developing the rational use of radio-contaminated lands.
Procurement of contracts financed by the WorldBank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits (current edition), and isopen to all eligible bidders asdefined in the guidelines.Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
Specific procurement notices for contracts tobe bid under the WorldBank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will beannounced, as they become available, in UN Development Business, World Bank's external website and Internet center of electronic trade website www.icetrade.by.
