The scope of the contract includes establishing existing and future workspace requirements to suit a range of operational working arrangements, developing a workspace design that can be translated into different offices, project manage the procurement of contractors and the implementation of the design into two pilot offices and evaluating the success of the design following use. The timescale for the project is to complete the design work and to have appointed consultants to commence works early in financial year 16-17. Timescales may be affected by the extent of works and the chosen procurement route as contract values exceeding the OJEU limits will require a lengthier procurement process. The consultant will be expected to support the project through to its conclusion. We are keen for consultants to bring their expertise and experience to bear and to work with Midland Heart to develop the requirements of this project. Our focus is on achieving the aims set out below by working in partnership with a company that can bring innovative ideas, best practice and knowledge to the table as part of our endeavour to provide stimulating working environments that meet our business needs. The consultant will support the management of the project. The design consultant will be independent of any interiors contractor or furniture supplier. This contract is not design and build. The successful design consultant will be excluded from bidding for the build tender which will follow the design project in order to remove any potential conflicts of interest.

As part of the Design Capability Programme framework, the Invest NI Design Service Team requires a number of Design Consultants to work with Invest NI client companies (current demand levels have grown recently from 30 per annum to approximately 120 commissions per annum) participating on a range of Design Development Programmes.
