Hjaltland Housing Association Limited is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified consultant with extensive experience in both housing and wider regeneration, to develop a Masterplan for the North Staneyhill area of Lerwick, Shetland. The key outcome of the Masterplan is to provide a deliverable ‘route map’ that will guide future investment and achieve a mixed tenure development required to make North Staneyhill and the wider community a vibrant, safe, and desirable place to live. The Association are looking to incorporate the guiding principles contained within the draft project, “A Place Standard for Scotland”, which is being delivered in partnership by the Scottish Government, NHS Health Scotland and Architecture and Design Scotland. Working closely with the Association, the successful consultant will be expected to develop high quality architectural and design solutions for the area that reflect the views of stakeholders and the local community to ensure that proposals meet the objectives of a successful and sustainable development plan for the area. The principal aims and objectives of the Masterplan are to:- 1. Develop a clear vision for the development of North Staneyhill, which has the support of the local community and key stakeholders and impacts positively on the whole area; 2. Set out proposals in the Masterplan which will address the key strategic challenges; and 3. Develop innovative, affordable architectural and design solutions for the site. 4. Prepare a robust delivery strategy with projects that can be phased and realised within the overall vision.
