Ubik Solutions OÜ is looking for a partner to apply for Archimedes smart specialisation
funding with the “FlowEM analytics module development” project.
Ubik’s objective is to bring FlowEM to the next level, targeting optimized processes in solar
installation i.e. how efficiently each solar panel or entire installation is working, what are its
performance (i.e. income), maintenance costs and predict possible forthcoming errors and
outages.
The focus is to analyse the efficiency of the Optiverter and quality of the produced energy
that depends on the size and conditions of the installation site, hardware and software
configuration, regional power grid parameters, type of solar panels and several other factors.
In addition to that, FlowEM should contain a quick production feedback module to calculate
how Optiverters are working in real-time, analysing their production and “health”
information. Based on that feedback, it would be possible to make quick corrections to
increase the reliability of the inverters and provide better operation and maintenance for
Optiverters.
The current FlowEM platform is based on Cassandra database, NodeJS backend server and
PHP frameworks installed on cloud infrastructure. Although the general infrastructure and
architecture must stay the same, there is a necessity to develop additional features to collect
different kinds of information about the user-specific installation site, hardware, software,
and weather conditions. The more information FlowEM can collect, the more thoroughly the
analysis could be performed which will lead to increased efficiency. To perform such an
analysis, big data analytics algorithms have to be applied.
