The Stuttgart Regional Council has committed 2013/2014 the small animal house of the University of Hohenheim due to compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and the Regulation on the protection of animals used for experimental purposes out.

The legal changes in laboratory animals (Directive 2010/63 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, recast TierSchG, TierSchVersV) and the resulting regulatory requirements by the Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, can not be realized in the existing building.
