IFI require the services of a suitably qualified and competent expert with a proven track record in the area of fresh water aquaculture, to support an expert review of Inland Fisheries Ireland’s inland fish farming activities with a view to making recommendations to support the optimisation of the production of brown trout and rainbow trout. This project should include a production capacity, process, facility and technology review and should specifically highlight the bottlenecks in the production process. Recommendations should be made on how bottlenecks in production could be mitigated and improvements made across IFI’s inland aquaculture facilities and business. This review should be supported by a detailed financial analysis and all recommendations should be fully costed and supported by reference to international best practice. Inland Fisheries Ireland has hatchery and fish farming facilities at Cong, Roscrea, Mullingar and in the South West of Ireland; the review would necessitate site visits to these locations and a full analysis of their capacities and facilities.
